Dynamic vocal analysis: vocal functionality evaluation

چکیده

ABSTRACT Dynamic vocal analysis (DVA) is an auditory-perceptual and acoustic assessment strategy that provides estimates on the biomechanics aerodynamics of production by performing frequency intensity variation tasks using voice spectrography. The objective this experience report to demonstrate use DVA in functionality dysphonic non-dysphonic individuals, with a special focus laryngeal musculature. Phonatory consisted sustained vowel, “a” or “é”, and/or connected speech, three intensities (habitual, soft, loud) frequencies high, low), as well ascending descending glissando. adjustments paralaryngeal muscles can be inferred from different tasks. main characteristics analyzed are control glottic adduction, stretching, shortening folds; musculature mainly related vertical position neck. While vowel evaluates larynx, speech allows evaluation articulatory employed. An spectrographic software used visualize performance such clinical application will exemplified spectrography plates normal voices, taken bank. Individuals who perform balanced way, adequate quality without phonatory effort, good functionality. On other hand, difficulties these worsening increased muscle tension may indications altered

The VHI Analysis of vocal polyps and vocal nodules

Objective: Explore the practical clinical significance and correlation of voice handicap index (VHI) for vocal polyps and vocal nodules, and further validate practicality of VHI. Methods: VHI of vocal cord polyp group (n = 35), vocal nodule group (n = 29), and control group (n = 22) was surveyed respectively. The VHI investigation included three categories of function (F), physiology (P) and em...

Vocal Cord Actinomycosis: A Case Report

Introduction: Actinomycosis is a systemic chronic bacterial infection caused by Actinomyces Israelii, an anaerobic organism normally resident in the human mouth. However, the actinomycosis of the larynx is very rare, and only about 15 cases have been reported in the literature so far. Most of the cases reported occurred in patients who had previously undergone radiotherapy for laryngeal cancer...

Vocal Imitations of Non-Vocal Sounds

Imitative behaviors are widespread in humans, in particular whenever two persons communicate and interact. Several tokens of spoken languages (onomatopoeias, ideophones, and phonesthemes) also display different degrees of iconicity between the sound of a word and what it refers to. Thus, it probably comes at no surprise that human speakers use a lot of imitative vocalizations and gestures when ...

Singer Identification and Transformation through Dynamic Modeling of Vocal Fold and Vocal Tract Parameters

Oftentimes when we listen to a familiar singer, the unique qualities of that performer’s voice allow us to establish the singer’s identity with relative ease. It is believed that the unique acoustic qualities of an individual singer’s voice arise from a combination of innate physical factors (e.g. vocal tract and vocal fold physiology) and individual characteristics of performance and expressio...
